Why I Teach

Many artists believe they need more talent, better brushes, or more experience.

What I’ve discovered is that most painters simply need a clearer way of seeing.

When you learn to recognize the underlying shapes, patterns, and color relationships in a scene, painting becomes less overwhelming and much more enjoyable.

That's why I created these classes—to help artists move beyond details and paint with greater clarity, confidence, and joy.

Hi. I'm Anne Ward

I’ve been painting professionally for over 30 years, showing my work in galleries and museums, and exploring everything from oils on canvas to digital iPad art.

What excites me most now is helping fellow artists simplify their process and find more ease in their practice. I know how overwhelming it can feel to face a blank canvas or get stuck in the details — and I love guiding students toward seeing shapes clearly, building strong design foundations, and creating with confidence and joy.

I've spent months developing these classes. Through each class, you’ll learn the same tools and mindset shifts that have supported my own lifelong art journey — so you can spend less time second-guessing and more time painting.
