What if progress in art began with being able to see in simple shapes?

I'm Anne. It took me years to understand that learning to subtract is the key ingredient to impactful painting. Last year I sold 34 paintings in a solo museum show by applying these concepts. I designed these pages and this class to reduce overwhelm about where to begin and what to paint by creating a structured plan for seeing in simplified shapes. I love helping people remember that art doesn't have to be complicated.

What materials do I need?

This class is designed as practice in seeing like an artist. You can follow along in whatever medium you like. You'll need a pencil and paper. I've done demonstrations in Procreate on the iPad, in colored pencil and in acrylic gouache. Within the class you'll find a stoppable link for the acrylic gouache that I use.
